he biggest European Health project, Mater Dei Hospital was inaugurated in June 2007. One of the main contributing factors to this success is undoubtedly the high academic standard of medical profession and the true sense of dedication of the various health care professions to the care of patients. The new hospital project will have a total floor area of 232,000m² and approximately 8,000 rooms. The hospital will also be used as a teaching facility by the neighboring University of Malta. Halmann Vella was responsible for the producing and laying of more than 25,000 sqm terrazzo flooring in main areas, more than 2,500 sqm of precast stairs and more than 16,000 mtrs of terrazzo skirting.
